I've used Stampin' UP! rubber stamps for cookies and fondant. They work great and make a deeper impression than acrylic stamps. I bought a separate set for baking & decorating purposes and have the case marked "for baking only" and stored in the kitchen. ***
Rubber Stamping On Chocolate by Susan Rice
Give a hand stamped romantic treat to your sweetheart by stamping extra special chocolates. You will need some cooking oil, store bought chocolates, little paper liners for individual chocolates to sit in and small clear acrylic rubber stamps. Experiment with different chocolate brands. It may be easiest to begin on solid chocolates.
1. Place a small amount of vegetable oil on a paper towel and allow it to absorb. Take your choice of new acrylic rubber stamps and dab it in the oil. It is important that you use new rubber stamps for this as the finished product will be consumed and you don't want any ink coming off the stamps onto the chocolate.
2. Heat the surface of the chocolate with a heat embossing tool.
3. Place the oiled clear rubber stamp (without a stamping block) into the melted chocolate. Refrigerate the chocolate with the clear stamp still in the chocolate. Complete your set of chocolates using different rubber stamp images.
4. Once the chocolate has solidified, bring it out of the fridge and gently peel the clear acrylic stamp from the surface of the chocolate.
5. Package your personalized, unique stamped chocolates in a box. Add a little colored tissue paper if you like. Be sure to clean your clear rubber stamps with soapy water as you don't want any traces of chocolate or oil left especially if you plan on converting your clear stamps over for use on paper crafts.
6. Make a coordinating Valentines Day (or Mother's Day, Graduation, Bridal or Baby) card to go along with your gift of heart.
That is it! It is easy and it is yummy! Rubber stamping with clear stamps on food is a completely unique way to say Happy Valentines Day!
OTHER YUMMY STAMPED TREAT IDEAS • Stamp a favorite image in a plain sugar cookie before baking. • Stamp a flower into fondant, cut it out and decorate cakes or other goodies with it. • Write a special message in a chocolate bar with this technique for an unexpected surprise.
Use your imagination in the kitchen, stamp on anything that will hold an image. Remember, if it doesn't work - you might have to eat it! No matter how unbelievable, enjoy rubber stamping fabulous sweet treats!
Susan loves to craft and particularly enjoys card making with all its forms of art. Using stamps for more than just card making has become a fun challenge for her as well. Visit http://www.clearlyrubberstamping.com/information for more ideas.

Companies Focus On Therapeutic Effects of Scrapbooking
As the economic recession leads to a rise in depression (or at least has many people feeling "down"), some scrapbook companies are choosing to focus their marketing efforts on highlighting the therapeutic effects of scrapbooking.
Big Picture Scrapbooking, the site started by Simple Scrapbooks magazine founding editor Stacy Julian which offers online education to scrapbookers, did a survey of their students about how scrapbooking affected them and promoted the results to media outlets. They shared what students said about the positive effect scrapbooking - and BPS classes - had on them:
Where else are you going to find, tucked into scrapbook design medium, a class on choosing joy and gratitude in your life instead of dwelling on the negative things that surround us every day? Where else will you learn secrets that will change the way you view life from top photographers and artists in simple, do-able steps? Big Picture Scrapbooking has changed my philosophy in life. I am learning from amazing women to savor life a little more and capture that in a form that my friends and family can enjoy and learn from for years to come.
Big Picture is also highlighting quotes from student reviews on the front page of their website that reflect the same marketing philosophy - their classes are not only about how to scrapbook, but are uplifting as well:
Stampin' Up! is also focusing marketing effort on the positive effects of scrapbooking. During the month of April, the stamping and scrapbooking direct sales company has been trying to encourage people who are stressed by the recession to relieve stress by adopting a new hobby. The company says that it believes that the "scenario of friends crafting together and enjoying a fun hobby may just be the ticket to relieving stress and helping people 'get connected' during these tough economic times."
Even those among us who are devoted scrapbookers and have known the help that scrapbooking was getting us through a hard time in the past (the loss of a loved one, for instance) can get pulled away from scrapbooking when we are stressed and other things seem more important. Scrapbooking businesses can do their industry and their customers - and their own individual business - a service by reminding people about the intangible benefits of their hobby.
It's value-added marketing: We're not just selling paper and stickers. We're selling relaxation and comfort, too.
Want to find out more about how you can start a business with a therapeutic effect for your customers? Call me at 207-282-6280, there is still time to do so with a three payment plan!
I received this swap in the mail today - swaps are what demonstrators do to share ideas - I love this because I don't have the butterfly die for the Big Shot, but now I can show my customers what it can look like in real life!
Stamps: Hostess
Inks: Basic Black
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Watercolor Paper, Raspberry Tart
Accessories: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Butterfly Die, Rhinestone Brad
Tonight I'm taking my girls to see the Hannah Montana movie, then tomorrow we're going to the Portland Sea Dogs game with their aunt, uncle and cousin!
Make this cool image by following three simple steps!
Supplies -
Stamps: Any outline image stamp set will do!
Inks: Basic Black, Brown or Grey OR Staz-On; classic ink pad of your choice
Paper: Glossy Cardstock
Accessories: Brayer, white crayon, Stampin Write Marker or other watercoloring tools.
Directions:
1) Stamp your image in Basic Black Classic ink or StazOn ink on Glossy White card stock. 2) Color areas you want to remain white--or that you want different from your background color--using a Whisper White or other light-colored Watercolor Wonder Crayon. 3) Use a brayer or sponge daubers to cover the entire surface of the card stock with ink. 4) Wipe off excess ink with a tissue.
Tips:
Give the ink time to dry before coloring your image with your crayon; otherwise the lines of your image may smudge.
After Step 4, you can color over the masked area with Stampin' Write markers or using watercolor tools.
I made this card for a swap I joined with other Stampin Up Demonstrators. The rules were use the Big Shot, 3 embellishments, ribbon, and 8 layers which include Designer Series Paper and textured cardstock. It will be awesome to see the other samples when they come in, you know I'll share!

To make this card, stamp the lawn mower using the Chocolate Chip Craft Ink pad, then emboss with Crystal Clear Embossing Powder. The 'mower' is then watercolored using a Blender Pen and Tangerine Tango and Riding Hood Red Classic Ink. I used the Photo Corner Punch and Vintage Brads on the corner embellishment, which is popped up using Stampin Dimensionals. *The Designer Paper shown here is retired, but Chocolate Chip Patterns Designer Series Paper would work beautifully!
Guess what? This order also qualifies for TWO STAMPIN SQUARES! I am so excited to give away a $50 Gift Certificate...once the board is finished, you'll know!
