Happy Wedding Day Silvia and Pat!

Today our family is celebrating the wedding of my brother in law Pat and his new bride, Silvia.

They decided to include the whole family, so I am going to have a rock star Christmas Card picture, I hope!  My handsome husband in a tux....beautiful girls in bridesmaid dresses....ooohhh!!!

I thought I had a picture of the card I am sending them, but can't find it on my hard drive this morning as we prepare to get to the hairdressers, so sorry, but stay tuned!

How Do You Make A Card?

I had this question today from one of the ladies attending the Scrappin and Stampin Getaway next month...what a great one!  Where to start... AT THE BEGINNING!!!

For this card, I started with 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock and cut it in half, 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 and then folded.  You could also cut the cardstock 4 1/4 by 11 and fold in half, creating a card that opens from the bottom up.

For the focal point, I would measure the stamp (Dasher, ain't he cute?) and then cut the whisper white cardstock to that exact measurement.  However here we added some Lovely As A Tree to the background, so that added width and depth to the measurement...

For the layering, I cut the Chocolate Chip cardstock 1/4" longer and wider, creating what I think is the perfect sized frame.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Like the new blog header?  It's been on my to-do list since the month began and now I can check it off my list!

As many of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  They say it will strike one in every 8 women. In my family, it is exactly that many.  My father is one of 8 children, all of whom have married which means I have 7 aunts on that side of the family, plus my mom. 

Breast Cancer struck Aunt Ruth, who we are happy to report is 10 years cancer free!

She celebrated with her daughters last weekend...

My mom is one of 5, all of whom have also married.  We were not as fortunate, having lost Aunt Joan 21 years ago in August.

Please consider making a donation to the Susan G. Komen fund....I honestly will not benefit financially if you do, but it could be YOUR mom, sister, wife, aunt, or daughter who benefit physically when they find a CURE!
