I have a guest artist today, my downline Lisa!  She decorated this adorable Design a House for the holidays!

I love these houses and was so thrilled when she let me post her picture!  Working with other demonstrators is sooo fun, we share ideas, bounce off each other and the results are amazing!

New Use for Waffle Paper!

So, last month I used the Waffle Paper Assortment 2 from the Holiday Mini Catalog for some Halloween cards and the Haunted House, pictured in THIS post.  I had a bunch left over and used the brown roll from the assortment to make goodie bags for the ladies at the Scrappin and Stampin Getaway!

Directions:  Cut a 6" long strip, flatten out and fold up to make a bag...the crease will be along one side.  Then use SNAIL to seal the bottom and other side of the bag.  Fill with goodies and cinch the top with ribbon of your choice!

I embellished these with the Large Scallop Circle and Scallop Circle Punches, 1 3/5" Circle Punch, Day of Gratitude stamp set, More Mustard, Old Olive, Whisper White card stock, Whisper White grosgrain ribbon.

Fall Scrapbook Layout

Here is a fall scrapbook page idea...actually those who attend my workshops this week will see something very similar demonstrated!

What I do for my mounts for photos is cut them 1/4" longer and wider than the actual picture.  Digital pictures now come 4 x 5 1/2"usually, and guess what???  You can get 4 mounts from one piece of 8 1/2 x 11" cardstock if you trim the photo just 1/4"!! 

Another tip - SAVE YOUR CARDBOARD! While I used On Board Longboard sheets for the letters here, you can use the cardboard from paper packs, etc to make letters and other chipboard embellishments!

The background was made by stamping on the cardstock in a random formation.  Yep, made my own background paper (some of it anyway :)

Remembering...and Thank You

This morning my family took a bike ride up to Main Street in Saco for the Veteran's Day Parade.  My father, uncles Mike, Bob, Paul, and another uncle Bob all served in the armed forces.  One of the most poignant parts of Uncle Michael's funeral last fall was when the colors were presented to Aunt Jean.

Today, I celebrate and thank the members of the armed forces, both retired and active duty.  One of the newest commissioned officers was my closest friend in college.  Yep, he's no spring chicken but in his words not the oldest in his class.  Congratulations, Peter, may God keep you safe as you keep us safe.
